OUR HEART: LOVE GOD, LOVEPEOPLE, LOVE IN ACTION!

Our heart as a family ofbelievers is to love God wholeheartedly, to love people passionately and to lovein action practically, so that we become a channel of blessing to see lives andcommunities transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

InJanuary 2010 I had a dream which I believe was from the LORD and which speaksinto the direction of Darebin Centre.

Inthis dream I saw two visions. The first vision was of a hand stretched out overthe land as in prayer. The land was dry and the land was stained with blood.This then transitioned into the 2^nd vision as the hand was stretchedover the land, water began to gradually wash over the land- cleansing the blood.The water then began to increase in depth and flow, and began to be channeled.

As Iawoke, the Holy Spirit reminded me of two verses.

Thefirst verse 2 Chronicles 7:14. This passage talks about the importance ofhumbling ourselves as God’s people to pray and to seek Him and to repent of oursins. As we do this it promises that God will hear our prayers and will forgiveour sins and will heal our land.

Thesecond verse Ezekiel 47:1-12. This passage talks about a river flowing from thetemple of God with increasing depth and whereverthe river flowed it brought incredible life and renewal. Salt water becamefresh. The river was teeming with life, with swarms of living creatures andlarge numbers of all kinds of fish. The fishermen were able to spread theirnets from the shore. There were a great number of all kinds of fruit trees thatgrew along each side of the river which never failed to bear fruit every monthand whose leaves never withered. The fruit served for food and the leaves forhealing.

InitiallyI wasn’t sure what to make of this dream and had put it to the back of my mind;it wasn’t until the 2^nd half of 2010 where I was challengedrepeatedly after my bible school classes to seek God for Darebin centre’sdirection. After each of the first three classes, the Holy Spirit spoke to mestrongly to seek him. As I began to seriously seek Him, God reminded me of thedream and also revealed to me the keys we are to follow to see the dream cometo pass for Darebin Centre.

We desire to see the power ofthe Holy Spirit to fill our lives through Holiness.

Thefirst key is holiness. This waswonderfully confirmed by our Senior Pastor when he revealed the Hope Melbournetheme of Holiness for 2011.

Godreminded me that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the veryfirst thing that we need to cultivate in our lives is holiness. We are calledto be holy just as He is holy. This is what it means to love Godwholeheartedly. Holiness is required so that the rivers of living water whichis symbolic of the Holy Spirit himself can fill us and flow through us as achannel of powerful blessing to touch and transform our communities for Christ.This process of transformation begins with us, through cultivating a life ofholiness, setting ourselves apart for God’s purpose. I believe one of the keysto cultivating a life of holiness is to progressively go deeper in the word ofGod through reading and meditation of the scriptures (Ephesians 5:25-27).Thatis why each year we aim to read through the whole bible at least once, and tobe consistent in our daily devotions.

We desire to seethe power of the Holy Spirit to be released through Humility

Thesecond key is humility: this isabout dependence on God. This is about humbling ourselves as God’s people, asHis spiritual representatives to pray and to seek him, and to repent of oursins and not only that but to intercede and identify with our land includingthe sins in our community past and present. This is what it means to lovepeople passionately. We need to discern the causes of the spiritual dryness,past injustices-the blood that stains the land. As we humble ourselves andpray, God will hear our prayers, and God will forgive and the healing power ofthe Holy Spirit will be released to wash over, to cleanse and soften thespiritual ground in our community.

We desire to seethe power of the Holy Spirit to be channeled through us to bring Healing andHarvest.

Cultivatingan increasing depth of holiness and humility will cause us to be increasinglyfilled with the power of the Holy Spirit and for us to be increasingly bearingthe fruit of the Holy Spirit- the harvestof righteousness. This will enable us to minister according to our variousgifting in the power and grace of the Holy Spirit- the water of life to bring healing to many precious lives and agreat harvest of souls into God’skingdom.

Wedesire to see all kinds of people in our community irrespective of theircultural and socio-economic background experiencing physical, emotional and mostimportantly spiritual healing as they are touched by the Holy Spirit as Heflows and ministers through his people. This is what it means to love in actionpractically.

Asa Church it is our desire to abide and flow with the Holy Spirit to see a greatnumber of growing and fruitful Christ centered disciples from all walks oflife, who would in turn give spiritual life to those who are spirituallyhungry.

Asa Church it is our heart felt desire to be a channel of blessing to transformlives and our society through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Love one another 11This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. 13Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

16This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Renounce Sin- To live a Righteous life

How to Guard Against Anti-Christ

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us—even eternal life.

I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Guard by knowing what to look for (v18-19)

Guard by knowing the truth (v 20-23)

Ignorance of the truth can lead us to be easily deceived.
The advice that we receive and follow: are they Christ-centred?
Philippians 3:7-14

"But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead."
